Dear Corrado,
Happy New Year! I hope that 2019 brings you peace and happiness, but above all, time to rest.
In this email, I am sending you Oscar’s words as he dictated them to me, although I am not sure they fully express how he really feels.
Oscar was delighted to hear from you and to know that his cake and photos will be published on the Caffè Sicilia website.
Oscar says that coming to Sicily and meeting you last summer was the best thing that happened to him last year.
He said, “Actually, it’s one of the best things that has ever happened in my life!”.
Thank you for welcoming us with such warmth and generosity, but especially for welcoming Oscar into the Caffè Sicilia family.
We hope to see you again soon.

Letter from Oscar to Corrado
Dear Corrado,
First of all, I am sorry it took me so long to write to you.
School started right after I got back to Berlin. I am now in third grade and I like it, but I miss having free time. I also miss Sicily. The land you come from is so beautiful.
My favourite part of our trip was trying your food and meeting you. The granita was so fresh and delicious!
My teacher is teaching us about where food comes from. My mum and I are going to give a presentation to my class about your desserts and how you source your ingredients from local farmers you know.
Thank you so much for the delicious biscuits and apricot jam! I love them!
I made a list of the ingredients in the cake, matching them to the numbers in the photo. Mum and I are sure that the ingredients can be found in Sicily!
